Unlike rubber hoses, fuel resistant corrugated flex hoses won’t break down when exposed to chemicals and solvents in modern pump and race gas. Modern enhanced gasoline contains ethanol and other solvents which can break down rubber hoses and cause them to swell and burst. Rubber particles may also contaminate the fuel system causing other components to fail. When replacing your fuel pump in a new fuel system, it is crucial to replace the fuel lines as well.
